Techniques: Using Scissors.
Scissors are levers. The rivet is the fulcrum. Using the blade close to the rivet gives maximum power and control. Use this part of the blade when cutting through thick card or when cutting out intricate shapes.

Use the full length of the blade for maximum speed. The closer to the tip of the scissors the cut goes the less control you will have. Long cuts are best left to straight edges.

Cutting out complex shape.
Cutting out intricate shapes can be problematic, inside curves and corners especially so.

When cutting to an inside corner, don't try to cut the line in one go. This can crease or distort the paper as in the first photo. Rather, cut in from one side, then in from the other, the waste piece will then fall out.
