Printing
Ewe Boat
Having created all the files for the Ewe Boat model the next stage is
the printing. So, all the files are saved in Adobe Illustator format and
copied onto a CD-ROM. The disk is then delivered to our printers, Colophon
Press, in Carlisle, Cumbria.
If you look closely at the computer screen you can make out the cover
of the Ewe Boat on Colphon's screen.
Once
they are happy with the file on their computer system it needs to be separated
and output to film. The files are divided into four colours, cyan, yellow,
magenta and key (black) with one film for each colour. The big black box
puts the image onto the film. It is then developed ready to be used to
create plates.
The
box shown here is used to develop the films, The film is simply a wide
roll of ordinary black and white photographic, it is developed with
standard photographic chemicals.
